Congratulations to McAllen High's Dariana Luna who signed to compete in track and field for the University of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio on May 16, 2025.
The lady Bulldogs track and field team had an outstanding year breaking 15 school records along the way and setting all-time Valley records in 4x100, 4x200, 4x800 and 100 Meter Hurdles. The Lady Bulldogs won the District 31-5A title, their seventh straight district championship. The Lady Bulldogs also went on to become Area Champions for the fifth year in a row and had 17 regional qualifiers. The Lady Bulldogs won back-to-back Regional Championships in 2024 and 2025, something no other Valley team has ever done. The Lady Bulldogs had eight individuals qualify to the UIL State Meet with Luna qualifying in three different events (Long Jump, 100-Meter Hurdles and 300-Meter Hurdles). Luna, a District, Area and two-time Regional champion, set a Valley record in the 100-M Hurdles and set school records in the 300-M Hurdles and Long Jump.
