McAllen ISD Elementary and Middle School FIRST LEGO League robotics teams competed in a robotics qualifying event held at Brown MS. Students competed in robot missions against each other and received awards at the end of the event. The top winning teams advanced to the FIRST in Texas FLL South Regional Championship.

Morris Middle School held its annual Career Fair on Dec. 18, 2023. The event offered students the chance to talk to people who work in careers that interests them. Rocky, a K9 officer with McAllen ISD Police Dept., passed away on Nov. 21. A memorial service was held in his honor on Dec. 18, 2023 at Memorial High School - the campus where Rocky was assigned. His handler, Officer Jaime Juan, spoke at the event along with Chief Joey Silva and Memorial Principal Pedro Alvarez. Students attended the brief service. The campus also ran a campaign to collect pet toys and blankets to be donated to the Palm Valley Animal Shelter in Rocky's honor.
