Los esfuerzos de limpieza realizados por nuestro personal y colegas en toda la ciudad este fin de semana deberían enorgullecernos a todos.
Me gustaría compartir mi más profundo agradecimiento por el arduo trabajo de nuestros equipos de nuestro Departamento de Instalaciones, Mantenimiento y Operaciones (FMO). Ellos, junto con nuestro Departamento de Policía y otro personal esencial, trabajaron diligentemente este fin de semana para limpiar escombros y otros áreas dañadas mientras se asegura de que todo esté listo para un regreso seguro para los estudiantes y el personal.
También quiero agradecer al Boys & Girls Club de McAllen por proporcionar espacio y comidas para los niños de kínder a quinto grado. Sé que esto ayudó a muchas de nuestras familias.

Dear Parents and Colleagues,
This is just a quick reminder that all schools will be open at their regular time tomorrow (Tuesday, May 2). Our buses will be running their routes as well.
The clean-up efforts made by our staff and colleagues across the city this weekend should make us all proud.
I would like to share my deepest appreciation for the hard work of our crews from our Facilities, Maintenance and Operations (FMO) Dept. They, along with our Police Dept. and other essential staff, worked diligently this weekend to clean up debris and other damaged areas while making certain everything is set for a safe return for students and staff.
I also want to thank the Boys & Girls Club of McAllen for providing space and meals for children in kinder-fifth grade. I know this helped many of our families.
The clean up will continue this week. In addition, the air conditioning at Hendricks Elementary will be up to full capacity as children return tomorrow.

Dear Parents and Colleagues,
First, I hope you and your family are safe following the severe weather event which swept through our community late Friday night.
We know many homes across McAllen are without power. Therefore, following a careful assessment, and out of an abundance of caution for our McAllen ISD family, classes have been cancelled for Monday, May 1, and the entire district will be closed. All staff and students are to remain at home on Monday.
We have been in contact with the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen and it will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. to all children in kinder-5th grade. They will serve free breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parents do not have to become members of the B&G Club of McAllen in order to enjoy these services.
Staff will report to work on Tuesday, May 2. Students will return to school at regular times on Tuesday as well. Our school buses will be running their routes.
Essential workers in the Police Dept.; Facilities, Maintenance and Operations (FMO) Dept. and Child Nutrition Dept. will still report to work on Monday. Events scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled.
Since Saturday, we have had crews cleaning up and assessing damage. We are working hard to ensure all schools are ready for learning on Tuesday, May 2. We appreciate your patience and support during this challenging time.
